FEDERAL ELECTION - MONDAY, OCTOBER 19, 2015, DON'T FORGET TO MAKE YOUR VOICE COUNT & VOTE!

The federal election is on Monday, October 19, 2015, did you get a voter information card with your correct name & address? If you did, you are registered to vote, so bring the card to the polls for faster service. If you did not receive it, you may not be registered, so check, update or complete your registration now at elections.ca or call 1-800-463-6868.

To vote in this federal election, you must be:

  • Canadian citizen
  • 18 years of age and or over
  • Prove your identity and your address
Ways to Vote

At your advance polling place:
12noon to 8:00 pm
Friday, October 9, 2015
Saturday, October 10, 2015
Sunday, October 11, 2015
Monday, October 12, 2015 (yes that's right, on Thanksgiving)

At your election day polling place:
Open for 12 hours
Monday, October 19, 2015

In person:
Go to any Elections Canada office before Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. To find the Elections Canada office nearest you, visit elections.ca or call 1-800-463-6868.







By mail:
Go to elections.ca or call for details and deadlines. You need to allow time for your marked ballot to reach Elections Canada by election day.



ID to Vote

1. Show one of these pieces of ID:
your driver's license
your provincial or territorial ID card
any other government card with your photo, name & current address

OR

2. Show two pieces of ID:
At least one must have your current address, i.e. bank statement, credit card or utility bill statements and/or student ID card for a complete list of acceptable ID go to the elections.ca website (accepted are e-statements and e-invoices, print them or show them on a mobile device for ease of convenience)

OR

3. If you ID does not have your current address, take an oath
Show two pieces of ID with your name and have someone who knows you attest to your address. This person must show proof of identity and address, be registered in the same polling division and attest for only one person.

Check your voter information card to find out if your polling place is accessible. You can also find this information by entering your postal code online at elections.ca or by calling 1-800-463-6868 before Thursday, October 15, 2015 at 6:00 p.m.
