PHELPS ANNOUNCEMENT - LAUNDRY FACILITY CHANGE - 2, 6, 7 and 8 PARK VISTA TENANTS

A notice (not dated) was distributed and received on Thursday, August 6, 2015 at 8 Park Vista, not certain when 2, 6 and 7 received their notice by Phelps but it was addressed to all residents advising that the laundry card system in each of our respective buildings will be changed to deal with the new credit and debit payment systems. A new card system will be installed on Monday August 17th, 2015.

Please try & keep your current laundry card balances low as the                                                         card will be replaced.

The notice further states, to facilitate the transition, a complete package is available with the office which has a new card along with all of the new instructions on the new system as well as how to deal with your current card and receive a refund for any balance that might remain.

Please note to receive the refund from your current laundry card, Phelps would ask that it be turned in no later than August 24, 2015.

A refund revalue code will be generated and posted by the new terminal by September 8th, 2015 for uploading to your new laundry card.

Phelps thanked the tenancy in advance for our assistance. The bottom of the notice was stated from Don Neufeld, Vice President Eastern Region, Phelps Smart Laundry, his email address don@phelps.ca

______________________________________

On behalf of our Members, the PVTA wrote an email to Don inquiring as to the short notice, and although, thankfully it would seem the majority of the tenancy do keep small balances on their laundry card, but for those that budget accordingly each month and may have a substantial balance, the time or notice was not sufficient. In addition, the quality of the equipment itself was once again reiterated to Don that we are not saitsified with the functionality and performance of these machines, with frequent need of repairs.

At this point, I would like to add, that of course each of us must take accountability in how we use the machines and I can only trust that they are being used in good faith, if however, you should witness anyone mishandling the equipment or the use is inappropriate and not equipped, do not confront the individual(s) but instead report it immediately to Pat Miller and Don Phelps. Let's respect the property and its proper usage.

Nonetheless, Don has advised that he has asked his Operations Team to look into several machines reported and that it is in the works to have these machines reevaluated and likelihood of replacement, more to follow on this as the assessment is work in progress.

In the interim, please understand that the PVTA is fully aware of the concerns the Tenancy has expressed as does Pat Miller and her Teams, however, Don is on it and am confident he will provide resolution. As more information becomes available, it will be passed on to the Tenancy.

Thank you,
