Swimming at the Park Vista Pool

Summer is here and its mid July already, the pool has been available to all residents of Park Vista since July 2, 2015. A reminder memo was posted by Capreit and in case you missed it, below is the safety protocols to help ensure a fun & safe summer for all.

Ontario Health Regulations:

  • No person having a communicable disease or open sores on their body shall enter the pool
  • No person shall bring in a glass container or food into the pool area
  • No diving allowed
  • No running
  • No person shall pollute the pool water in any manner
  • No person shall engage in boisterous play in the pool or pool area
  • The maximum number of persons allowed in the pool or on the deck is 25
  • The lifeguard has full authority of the swimming pool
In addition to the above listed Ontario Health Regulations, the Lifeguard will be enforcing the following:
  • Guests:  Maximum of 1 guest per suite and resident MUST accompany guest
  • Age Restrictions:  Children under 12 years of age MUST be accompanied by an adult, children under 7 years of age must be DIRECTLY supervised by an adult within arms length at ALL times (an adult is considered a person over the age of 16 years) 
  • Toys:  Balls, noodles, water toys are only permitted under the discretion of the lifeguard as trained by the pool company
  • Life Jackets/PFD: Personal flotation devices (PFD) are permitted in the pool, only in the shallow end with adult supervision and within arms length
  • Items on deck: Residents and guests are not permitted to bring items on the deck (i.e. bikes, strollers, skateboards, roller-blades, etc etc)
  • Pets: Pets are not permitted on the deck
  • Deep End Test: Any swimmers requesting to swim in the deep end must be able to complete 2 widths of the pool and tread water for 30 seconds
  • Proper Swimwear: All swimmers must wear proper swimwear in the pool. Clean white T-shirts are allowed but not street clothes
  • Children in Diapers: Diapers are not permitted in the pools. Contamination of the pool will result in evacuation of the pool for approximately 1-2 days while the pool is drained and refilled
  • Weekend Usage & Hot Days: The pool will be cleared every 1/2 hour to facilitate higher volumes of swimmers during the weekend and on very hot days (+30 degrees C / 92 degrees F)
